We want to share the news from our Center for Social Adaptation of Youth Meyirim in Aktobe.
More than 100 pupils from 18 to 29 years old - graduates of special boarding institutions, who, after graduating from orphanages, are in dire need of housing and employment, live and work in the Center. Here they live in separate apartments, independently managing their households, study in popular professions and gain work experience and length of service. For the organization of the educational and production process, Meyіrіm operates a sewing workshop, a shoe workshop, greenhouses and a flower shop, a beauty salon, an assembly hall and a gym for physiotherapy. Pupils work and get paid.
The Center also takes into account the interests and needs of children with disabilities. The entire territory and the first floors of residential buildings are fully equipped specifically for the convenience of wheelchair users. At the moment there are no such guys at the Center, but Meyirim is always open for young people with special needs.
Despite the quarantine in force in the city, life in the Center goes on as usual. Children in isolation continue to work and study. In particular, at the Moscow online university of popular professions Skillbox, 6 students of the Center are engaged in free distance learning organized by our Foundation. Students gain valuable knowledge in the most modern and relevant specialties.
In addition to studying, the guys are actively involved in sports, creativity and personal self-development. So, Marina Reimova, a pupil of the Center, has been professionally engaged in curling for 5 years. This year, Marina, as part of her team, took an honorable second and third place in the republican competition.
Another Meyirim’s student, Dmitry Zakirov, is making successful steps in entrepreneurship. Dmitry develops his own business in the advertising field and is also an employer for several children living in the Center.
Dinara Galimova, another graduate of the Center, is a candidate for master of sports in boxing. She took part in regional republican competitions more than once and defended the honor of the city.
We always follow the lives of children with interest and we are very happy about their success! After all, these achievements are the best indicator of the significance of all our work to launch this unique project.
