Dombyra-Dastan Gala Concert

Today in Almaty a grand gala concert of the First Republican Children and Youth Contest Dombyra-Dastan was held to award the winners.

The festive event was held in the Great Hall of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. The Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, where the Kurmangazy State National Orchestra of Folk Instruments played for the guests throughout the evening. The Director-producer was a great friend of the Foundation, the famous composer Renat Gaisin.

The guest of honor of the competition was the statesman and public figure, philanthropist, doctor of political sciences Imangali Nurgalievich Tasmagambetov.

            Aselle Tasmagambetova, President of the Saby Foundation, addressed a welcoming speech: "The main purpose of the Dombyra-Dastan contest is to popularize seven different schools of kyu and discover young talents.

This year, the Saby Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Over the past years, we have supported more than 1,200 young talents through various programs and events.
I have high hopes that through such initiatives in the future there will be artists who will raise the image of our country and glorify Kazakhstan in the world.

I am sure that today there are worthy followers of such great kyushi as Dina Nurpeisova, Nurgisa Tlendiev and Karshiga Akhmediyarov among the finalists".

From the stage of the Conservatory, great Kazakh kyuis were performed by renowned dombrists and kyushis - Seken Turysbekov, Abylai Tlepbergen, Aigul Ulkenbayeva, Saltanat Kudaibergenova, Asylbek Yensepov, Nurken Ashirov, Tanat Sadenov, under the direction of the distinguished conductor and composer Aitkali Zhaiymov.

 The musicians showed their virtuoso mastery of the instrument during the "Kyui-Tartys" performance.

Especially for the guests with a song "Dombyra turaly ballad" performed by the winner of international competitions Yerzhan Maxim.

So, the winners of the competition:

Junior Group:

Grand Prix and a grant of 8 million tenge - Dauletbay Ayana.

1st place and a grant of 6 million tenge - Sarsengazy Aitumar, 2nd place and a grant of 4 million tenge - Alipbek Daryn, 3rd place and grants of 1 million tenge each - Tukulov Azamat and Kurmanzhan Asset.

Senior Group:

Grand Prix and a grant of 8 million tenge - Sagatbek Nurdaulet.

1st place and a grant of 6 million tenge - Zhanatbek Bahdaulet, 2nd place and a grant of 4 million tenge - Abdizhali Beknur, 3rd place and a grant of 2 million tenge - Sayat Nurali.
