Aselle Tasmagambetova about the competition "Dombyra-Dastan"

“Even in the time of our ancestors, Kadyr-ata said that “A real Kazakh is not a Kazakh himself, a real Kazakh is a dombra!”

Dombra is a sacred Kazakh instrument. The spirit of the Kazakh people. Source of antiquity.

Our main task is to continue the noble heritage that we received from our ancestors.

The main goal of the "Dombyra-Dastan" competition is the wide popularization of seven different kui schools and opening the way for young talents.

This year, the Saby Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Over the years, we have supported over 1,200 young talents through various programs and events.

I have high hopes that thanks to such initiatives, artists will appear who will glorify Kazakhstan on the world stage.

I am sure that among the finalists there are future followers of such great kuishi as Dina Nurpeisova, Nurgisa Tlendiev and Karshiga Akhmediyarov.”
