In 2018, the Sabi Foundation launched the national project “Emergency Pediatric Surgery” to improve medical care for children in the regions of Kazakhstan. The project opened five high-tech emergency trauma and surgery departments in the cities of Almaty, Semey, Aktau, Petropavlovsk, and Atyrau.

In order to ensure that the professional training of Doctors fully corresponds to the level of availability of the built surgical units, the Foundation organizes and finances workshops and upgrade training courses involving the best specialists of Russia and Kazakhstan..

For example, last month the Foundation sent five pediatric surgeons working in the pediatric surgery departments of Semey, Petropavlovsk, Aktau and Atyrau to Moscow for training. The doctors took advanced training courses under the guidance of honored professor Yuri Sokolov at the Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education. All expenses for training, flights, accommodation and meals for the doctors were covered by the Foundation.

The monthly courses “Endosurgery in Pediatrics” and “Pediatric Surgery” consisted of theoretical and practical medical knowledge and skills, as well as direct participation in complex operations. The doctors have already returned to Kazakhstan and are actively applying their knowledge and experience to save the lives of children in the regions of Kazakhstan.
