The achievements of its graduates are yet another testament to the high quality of education at No. 9 “Zerde” School: all 65 students graduating this year have received educational grants. Some were awarded government-funded scholarships, while another 23 graduates were admitted to leading universities in Kazakhstan and abroad with full financial support for their studies.
This achievement is particularly meaningful for our Foundation, as the modern educational environment at the lyceum is one of the Foundation’s long-term charitable projects. In 2024, the Saby Foundation built and gifted Astana a new building for Specialized Lyceum No. 9 “Zerde”, a school for gifted children.
The modern educational complex covers more than 10 000 square meters, with approximately 3000 square meters dedicated to sports and recreational areas. The construction project was valued at approximately KZT 4 billion.
The new building became the lyceum’s first modern educational facility fully designed to meet international educational and environmental standards. It provides students with an environment that supports their academic and personal development, including modern classrooms and laboratories, STEM classrooms, a library with a reading room, coworking spaces, a robotics lab, a sewing workshop, spacious recreation areas with panoramic windows, and comprehensive sports facilities.
At the same time, Zerde’s strong results are not limited to a single graduating class. For many years, the lyceum has been recognized as one of Kazakhstan’s leading educational institutions, specializing in advanced studies in mathematics, physics, and the natural sciences in both Kazakh and English.
Over the years, the school has produced 123 graduates awarded the Altyn Belgi distinction, 99 graduates who have gone on to study at prestigious universities around the world, and 161 graduates who received educational grants to study at Nazarbayev University. The lyceum has also established itself as one of the country’s leading schools in academic olympiads.
This year’s results are yet another confirmation that investing in quality education and modern learning environments creates long-term opportunities for children and helps shape their future.
