As part of its Medical Project, the Saby Foundation financed the repair of an expensive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine for Polyclinic No. 32 in the Turksib District of Almaty. The clinic’s administration reached out to us with a request for assistance in purchasing and replacing a failed MRI compressor. Unfortunately, the cost of the repair was unaffordable for a state medical institution.
In any clinic, an MRI machine plays a critical role, as access to high-precision diagnostics directly affects the speed of diagnosis and the start of treatment. Dozens of patients undergo MRI scans every day, and the breakdown of the machine significantly disrupted the hospital’s operations. Patients were forced to wait for referrals to other facilities or turn to private clinics for paid diagnostic services.
Thanks to the Foundation’s prompt support, the MRI machine has been restored to working condition, and the clinic is now able to fully provide residents of the district with timely, accurate, and free diagnostic services.
