The Saby Foundation continues its active work on the “Phosphornik” project in the city of Shymkent. The old building of the former cultural palace bearing the same name was demolished following a technical assessment, the results of which confirmed that it was beyond restoration or repair.
The new “Phosphornik” project is not just about constructing a cultural palace but about creating a cutting-edge cultural center—an important step in enhancing urban infrastructure, improving the quality of life, and fostering the creative potential of young people. It will serve as a multifunctional educational and creative hub, providing youth with opportunities to bring their ideas and ambitions to life.
Currently, the architectural and budgetary documentation is in the design phase. The new building, spanning 7,196 square meters, will feature specialized creative workshops, offering opportunities for engagement in various fields—from visual arts to craftsmanship and design. This dynamic space will welcome individuals with diverse talents and interests, acting as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial ventures. Masterclasses, exhibitions, concerts, and other cultural events will be regularly organized to promote the growth of creative industries and encourage social engagement among young people.
The “Phosphornik” project aims to establish a comprehensive ecosystem that inspires, educates, and unites people, empowering them to realize bold and innovative ideas. It is designed to become a vibrant hub for youth, not only from the city but from the entire region.
