Construction of Emergency Pediatric Surgery has been started in Petropavlovsk

We are happy to inform all friends and partners of our Foundation that work on organizing an emergency pediatric surgery department has begun in Petropavlovsk. It is the fourth department to be opened by the Saby Charitable Foundation as part of its Emergency Pediatric Surgery project launched in 2018.

Thanks to this project, modern surgical units organized according to international standards and equipped with the most advanced medical equipment are functioning in Almaty, Aktau and Semey on the basis of state hospitals so far. Now, a similar high technology emergency surgical service of the world level will be built in Petropavlovsk. 

It is well-known that the activities of the Saby Foundation adhere to the principle of consistency, developing ongoing projects in all directions. Therefore, after each surgical department is opened, the Foundation conducts a series of master classes for local doctors from honored pediatric surgeons from Russia and Kazakhstan. It also organizes training and advanced training courses for Kazakhstani specialists at the Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education.

The decision to develop the medical industry in different regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been made by the Saby Foundation for a special reason: these opened surgical departments will serve the children's population not only of the city or town where they are situated, but also children from all nearby settlements.  Thousands of emergency surgeries are performed here every year, thus saving the lives of young patients. The Foundation's objective is to provide high-quality, effective emergency medical and rehabilitation assistance to children in the different regions of Kazakhstan.

• The department in Almaty was opened in April 2019 on the basis of the Children's City Hospital No. 2. The project cost amounted to 173.2 million KZT.

• The department in Semey was opened in January 2020 at the University Hospital of the NJSC “Semey Medical University”. The project cost amount to over 247.5 million KZT.

• The department in Aktau was opened in June 2021 on the basis of the Mangistau Regional Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital. The project cost amounted to 307 million KZT.

• The department in Petropavlovsk is scheduled to be opened at the Regional Children's Hospital of the North Kazakhstan Region approximately in January 2022. The project cost will exceed 335 million KZT.
