24 Years of Giving Back

People sometimes ask me what has changed over the years.

A great deal has changed.

Yet my understanding of philanthropy has remained the same.

I still believe it is built on three fundamental values: compassion, mercy, and love.

Over time, however, another essential principle has become just as important—responsibility.

Responsibility for what you see.

Responsibility for what you have the ability to change—and therefore cannot choose to ignore.

Over the past 24 years, the Saby Foundation has evolved from providing individual assistance to building sustainable, long-term solutions.

Today, our work is no longer just about projects.

It is about creating lasting change.

We build infrastructure where none existed before.

We launch initiatives that continue to make an impact for years.

We support people who, in turn, go on to support others.

With time comes a deeper understanding of the true scale of what we do. Behind every project is a person’s life, a family’s future, and sometimes, a life that is quite literally saved.

That is why the Saby Foundation focuses on large-scale infrastructure initiatives with lasting, systemic impact—hospitals that save lives for decades and schools that help shape future generations.

And with every passing year, the sense of responsibility grows stronger—not as an obligation, but as something deeply personal. A responsibility that simply does not allow you to stop.

For me, philanthropy has never been something separate from life.

It has always been a way of life.

And a responsibility.

Perhaps the greatest lesson these years have taught me is that meaningful change requires time, patience, and unwavering commitment. It is not enough to launch a project—you must stay with it, nurture it, develop it, and see it through until it is strong enough to continue making a difference on its own.

Twenty-four years.

And we keep moving forward.

Happy Birthday, my dear Saby Foundation.
