In Kazakhstan, the online school Dos.Academy has been launched – a comprehensive foundational training program for employees of non-profit and non-governmental organizations. The program is built on the practical experience of the founders of the country’s largest foundations, experts, and specialists who have been developing the culture of philanthropy in Kazakhstan for decades. As part of the course, these practitioners served as speakers and instructors, sharing their knowledge and real-life case studies from their work.
Assel Tasmagambetova, President of the charitable foundation Saby, was invited as one of the school’s key experts. Thanks to her many years of experience in managing a charitable organization, implementing her own social and infrastructure projects, and her deep understanding of the development of the third sector in the country, she was able to share valuable insights and knowledge.
Assel Imangaliyevna recorded a dedicated block of lessons in which she revealed the fundamental principles of NGO activities: from defining a mission and key objectives to building a sustainable development strategy.
The foundation’s president also shared real case studies from Saby, demonstrating how to launch large-scale projects, establish partnerships, and maintain effectiveness over many years. That is why her lessons became more than just educational material for the participants, they served as a practical guide, helping to avoid common mistakes and build NGO activities on a solid and professional foundation.
The school’s program includes 15 thematic modules covering topics such as NGO management, financial discipline, fundraising, grant programs, marketing and PR, legal requirements, communications, managing burnout, and much more. These are local, practical insights tailored to the realities of Kazakhstan – knowledge that is not available on international educational platforms and that genuinely helps in the day-to-day work of non-profit organizations.
